Terms of service
Last updated: 23 October 2026
The short version. We draft Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) from the job details you give us and check them before sending. You stay responsible for your SWMS: read it with your workers, make sure it matches the site, sign it, and follow it. If a builder rejects it, we fix it free. Your first month on Solo or Crew is free. You add a card to start it, and unless you cancel before it ends, your plan continues as a paid monthly subscription. You can cancel online any time.
You accept these terms by ticking "I agree" on our job form or customer agreement page, or by using a document we send you after we've given you a link to these terms.
The full terms below are what apply. Nothing in them takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Who we are
Cleared for Site is a trading name of Joe Acton (ABN 50 915 654 899), Brisbane, Queensland ("Cleared for Site", "we", "us"). These terms apply to anyone who asks us to prepare a document or signs up to a plan ("you").
2. What we do
We prepare draft Safe Work Method Statements and related site safety documents ("documents") based on the information you give us. We use software, including AI tools, to help draft them, and a person reviews every document before it is sent to you.
We are a document preparation service. We are not your safety adviser, we do not visit your site, and we do not supervise your work.
3. Your responsibilities
Under work health and safety laws, the business carrying out high-risk construction work must prepare the SWMS in consultation with its workers, and the work must be done in line with it. Using our service does not transfer those duties to us. Before using any document we prepare, you must:
- give us accurate and complete information about the job, the site, your workers and your equipment, and tell us if anything changes;
- read the whole document and check that it matches the actual site, task and conditions;
- go through it with the workers who will do the work, and change it where they or you identify something missing or wrong;
- sign it, put the controls in place, and stop work if the SWMS is not being followed or does not fit the work; and
- make sure your workers hold any licences, tickets and training the work requires.
A document is not a substitute for competent workers, supervision, or advice from a qualified safety professional where your work needs it.
4. Turnaround
We aim to send documents the same business day for jobs received before 2pm (Brisbane time) on weekdays, and by the next business morning otherwise. If we need more information, the clock starts when we receive it. These are targets, not guarantees, but we will tell you if we expect a delay.
5. Work we don't do
We don't prepare documents for asbestos removal, diving work, use of explosives, or confined-space entry, or for any job we reasonably believe needs a specialist. We may decline any request, and we will tell you as soon as we do.
6. Rejected by your builder
If a builder or principal contractor rejects a document we prepared, send us their reasons within 14 days of delivery. We will revise it at no charge. This doesn't apply where the rejection is because the information you gave us was wrong or incomplete, or because the builder requires their own template or system. In those cases we will still help, and we'll tell you first if there's a charge.
7. Free month and automatic renewal
- Solo and Crew are subscriptions. Your first month is free. To start it, you give us a payment card through our payment provider's secure page. The free month runs for 30 days from the day you add your card, and we start work on your jobs once it's added.
- During the free month we prepare up to 8 documents for your business, used reasonably.
- Unless you cancel before the free month ends, your subscription continues automatically and your card is charged the plan price on the day after the free month ends ($59 a month for Solo, $129 a month for Crew, or the price shown when you signed up), and then every month after that until you cancel.
- We will email you at least 7 days before your free month ends, telling you the date it ends, the amount you'll be charged and how to cancel.
- If you cancel during the free month, you won't be charged anything, and you may still use the documents we prepared for you.
- One free month per business. If we find a business has already had one, we may end the second free month and offer a paid plan instead. These terms apply to documents prepared during the free month in the same way as to paid documents.
8. Plans, payment and cancelling
- Single documents are paid per document. Monthly plans are charged to your card in advance each month, starting when your free month ends, until you cancel.
- Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. If a payment fails, we'll let you know and may pause new documents until it's sorted.
- Prices are in Australian dollars and are shown on our website. If GST applies in future, we will tell you before it is added.
- Solo covers up to 2 workers and Crew up to 10 workers in your business. "Unlimited" means documents for your own jobs, used reasonably. It does not cover preparing documents for other businesses.
- You can cancel any time, online through the "manage or cancel your plan" link on our website (a couple of clicks, no phone call needed), or by emailing or texting us. Cancelling during the free month means you're never charged. Cancelling after that takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for, and we don't refund part months unless the law requires it.
- We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
9. Who owns the documents
Once a document is paid for (or provided during your free month), you may use, copy and change it for your own business and jobs. Our templates, wording and systems remain ours, and you may not resell our documents or templates.
10. Our liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where our services are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for failing to meet a guarantee is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
To the extent the law allows:
- our total liability to you for anything connected with our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose;
- we are not liable for any loss arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you gave us, from changes to the work or site you didn't tell us about, from a document you didn't review, discuss with your workers or follow, or from work carried out by you or anyone else; and
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost contracts or delays.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. How these terms are accepted and recorded
When you tick the agreement boxes on our job form or customer agreement page, we keep a record of your name, business, the date and time, and the version of these terms you agreed to. If you send us a job by text or email before agreeing, we will send you a link to agree before we deliver your first document.
12. Privacy
We handle personal information, such as worker names and site addresses, as set out in our privacy policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any change that affects your plan, and the version on our website applies to new requests.
14. Disputes and law
If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will try to fix it quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
